Dance Instructor & Theater Director
Emma Davis is a dancer, choreographer, and educator in Flint. She graduated summa cum laude in 2015 from the University of Michigan Rackham School of Graduate Studies with an M.A. in Liberal Studies and a concentration in American Theatre. She works with people of diverse ages and backgrounds and believes that dance should be accessible to all.
Davis started teaching and dancing with EBFE in 2018. She also performs as a backup dancer for music artist Tunde Olaniran since 2011, touring nationally in ten major cities and internationally in England and France.
Davis is a dance lecturer at the University of Michigan-Flint where she teaches technique in ballet, tap, modern and Giordano jazz, in addition to choreographing for the Spring Dance Concert and serving as faculty advisor to the Student Dance Organization.
Davis also teaches community-based dance classes for incarcerated girls through the Buckham/GVRC Share Art Project and senior adults through the Flint School of Performing Arts. Her choreography has been presented at regional dance festivals, Shop Floor Theatre Company, Flint Youth Theatre, and Flint Dance Collaborative.
She has won many awards and fellowships for her work including from the University of Michigan, Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, and the Jubilation Foundation. Davis is a current board member for the Michigan Dance Council.
